I'm a 29 year old chick living in the South. I'm married to Kim - happily married most of the time. Our daughter is 8-year-old Bailyn. I work in the I.S. Department of a nearby hospital. Oh, and I'm a pagan living in the Bible Belt.

I love reading, cuddling with Kim and Bailyn, working with computers, playing The Sims 2, and waiting anxiously for the release of Sims 3.

Why did the monkey fall out of the tree?

Because he was dead!

So crows my 5-year-old. Imagine my shock, if you will. We are currently in a phase where anything poop, fart, conk-conk, or goobedlygock is hilarious. When she asked me this question, I expected to hear, "Because he farted!" I was so shocked by her answer that I started laughing hysterically. Now, she tells this joke to everyone. Most (like Kim's mom) seem to be appalled. I will agree that the joke IS horribly morbid. But it also (in my unbiased mother's opinion) demonstrates a greater understanding of mortality and shock value than most 5-year-olds have. I also think that maybe the bizarre nature of her parents' sense of humor may be rubbing off....
